What's On

Motherwell South Parish Church

May I start by wishing you a very happy Easter – Christ is Risen.

Motherwell Soutth Parish Church

Our Easter Sunday started off at 9am at Barons Haugh for Easter egg rolling and then we are back to the Church for breakfast available followed by a service with a very different vibe the sanctuary was laid out as a crafting workshop as the congregation started about decorating their own cross’s. What a blessed and busy day we had.

Our Annual Kirk Session Conference takes place on Sunday April 27 directly after worship can any elders who have not spoken to Aileen please contact her to confirm numbers for catering.

Our Summer Fete is a little earlier this year it will be held on Saturday May 24, please come along and support this vital fundraiser for our new development, tea tickets and a list of stalls will be available shortly.

A reminder of Gordon Wilson’s funeral. Gordon’s funeral will take place on Tuesday April 22 at 12.30pm at Holytown Crematorium. Please keep Elizabeth, Emma, Graham, Stacy and the grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Moira Scott gave us notice of the upcoming Summer Holiday Club which will be running from 9.30am till 12pm July 21-25 and is for P1 to P7 age groups. The theme this year is Epic Explorers based on Marks Gospel. The children will enjoy games, crafts, interactive storytelling, and teamwork. We would like some willing helpers from our congregation so if you could give Moira any of your time please get in touch.

The children were presented with prizes for their decorated eggs by Alan a well done to everyone who took part and to those who won a prize.

We heard the story of the risen Christ told by two Sophie’s and then we had some fun with the doll trend going around on social media, Alan the doll gave us all a great laugh, Alan then turned the tables on the congregation by getting some of them to stand up and the children then had to run around to each one of them getting some sweets as their doll appeared on the screens. A fun service with a difference again.

Christ is Risen – Praise the Lord

Amen
