At The Oaks, we believe care doesn’t have to be clinical—it’s about building meaningful relationships, creating a supportive environment, and making everyone feel like part of the family. We’re proud to celebrate the incredible work of our carers and show our deep appreciation for their dedication to improving the lives of those in their care.
The evening will kick off with a fire walk challenge—brave participants will walk across a path of hot embers to raise funds for the Care Workers Charity, a charity that supports the wellbeing of carers across the UK. Whether you’re walking or cheering on those who are, it’s a fun and empowering way to show support for the amazing individuals who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Alongside the fire walk, there will be live music from a local DJ, creating an energetic atmosphere. A food truck will be on-site serving up tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, family, and neighbours, while supporting a great cause.
The event is not just about fundraising—it’s about building stronger connections between the people in our care home and the local community. At The Oaks, we are committed to breaking down the barriers that sometimes exist between care facilities and the people who live in them. We want everyone to feel like a valued part of the community.
"We want to create an environment where our people feel integrated into the fabric of the local community," said Lianne, the manager of The Oaks Care Home. "By hosting events like the fire walk, we can celebrate the contributions of our carers, engage with the community, and show that care is about more than just providing support—it’s about fostering relationships and creating a sense of belonging."
Whether you’re walking, volunteering, or simply attending to show your support, we invite you to join us in making this event a success. Let’s come together to celebrate the people who make a difference in the lives of others and strengthen our community ties.
