They have been in the music business for over six decades now and will be releasing their sixth studio album on Thursday 17th April 2025 nearly 50 years after their debut album in 1977.
Their first album was produced by Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath and founder member Geoff Nicholls (RIP) actually went on to join Black Sabbath in the summer of 1979 having both unofficial member and member status for nearly 24 years. The band enjoyed major support slots during the late 1970's and early 1980's supporting bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Rush and UFO to name but a few. Mick Hopkins (lead guitarist) has also featured in a number of bands before QUARTZ playing with the likes of Roy Wood, Graeme Edge, Bev Bean, Nicky James, Cat Stevens and also in two bands with John Bonham.
If you are old enough to remember QUARTZ from the first time around then why not take a trip down memory lane and catch up with them at their album launch party to be held at The Billesley Rock Club in Kings Heath on Sunday 27th April 2025 which starts at 6pm. If you missed out last time don't make the same mistake again .
