Children's charity hopes to make more dreams come true thanks to marketing agency support

A charity which makes dreams come true for seriously or terminally ill children is hoping to help even more families after being offered free support from a Birmingham-based digital and social media marketing agency.

Nikki Yeomans and Vickie Thompson from Promise Dreams with Famous Wolf's Natalie Heywood and Rudy Heywood.

Founder of the Famous Wolf agency, Rudy Heywood, was instantly inspired and motivated to help Promise Dreams after attending the charity’s annual fundraising ball, which is held in November each year.

The agency is now supporting Promise Dreams with its social media presence, helping to raise the profile and enabling the charity’s small team to devote more of their time to fulfilling dreams.

Wolverhampton-based Promise Dreams aims to create happy memories for children who are seriously or terminally ill, and their families. This could be meeting a hero, day trips, the holiday of a lifetime, or buying specialist equipment that enables them to join in day-to-day life.

Recent dreams fulfilled include trips to Lapland, Disneyland Paris, Center Parcs and West Midlands Safari Park, a day spent filming with a celebrity YouTuber and hospital visits by Disney characters.

Nikki Yeomans, Promise Dreams charity manager, said: “Last year we fulfilled just under 100 dreams, which we are very proud of as a team of only two. We are never without applications and are generally working on between 30 and 40 at any one time. Once an application has been accepted the dream must be taken within 18 months. Every one of those applications is a family facing the most unimaginable heartbreak.”

While Nikki focuses on raising funds, her colleague Vickie Thompson co-ordinates the dreams. Vickie was also sorting social media promotion as and when she could, but this takes her away from time that could be spent making dreams come true.

Spreading the word and fulfilling more dreams

Nikki added: “Very often time is sadly of the essence and we have to act quickly to fulfil a child’s dying wish, or to help their family make some lasting memories with them before it’s too late.

“We never want to be in a position where we have to say no, which is why it’s important to raise our profile and expand our network of supporters. We want to help as many families as we can, but we can’t keep asking the same people for fundraising.

“That’s why we’re so grateful of the support from Famous Wolf. What they’ve offered is fantastic, it will help us spread the word further and free up Vickie to spend more time on the dreams.

“We now have a strategic social media plan with a lot more posts going out. February was our first full month working with Famous Wolf and all the figures are up, viewers are up and engagement is up. It’s brilliant.”

Famous Wolf is an award-winning agency that helps national and international brands create a legendary online presence with results-driven returns on investment.

It was set up by Rudy in 2019 and now employs a whole team of social media marketers, ad campaign specialists, influencer marketers, content creators, videographers and web development experts.

Rudy said: “As a father, and just as a human being, I was totally and utterly moved by Promise Dreams’ presentation at their ball. They showed the story of a young girl they’d helped and it was incredibly moving and inspiring. I just had to help.

“I had a chat with Nikki and what they really needed was more time. By taking over their social media we can give them that time to help more children. And by helping raise the charity’s profile, we can hopefully also attract more sponsors and supporters to enable them to continue to grow the amazing work they do.”
