Pride all round for Kimberley School after A-level and GCSE results

Staff and students at Kimberley School are enjoying the proud feeling of another successful year of A-level and GCSE results.

Kimberley School has had another excellent year for A-levels and GCSEs.

Tears of relief and happiness, smiles and embraces from loved ones followed the opening of the ‘dreaded’ results envelopes.

Students needn’t have worried, however and both year 13 and year 11 students are now looking forward to exciting futures.

Andy Park, head teacher, said: “After two intense years of sixth form studies, the A-level results were exceptionally good and up by an average of a third of a grade per entry compared to 2023.

"From the students whose art work wowed the examiners, to those who achieved clean sweeps of A* grades or full marks in coursework and entrance to Cambridge University, there were causes to celebrate all round.

"Sixth form students are challenged to develop their kindness, positivity, resilience and aspiration and they have certainly risen to the challenge.

"This cohort are not only academic stars – a third of all grades were grade A* or A – they have also shown their concern for others in practical ways, raising more than £6,000 for charity.

"Students will progress to university courses, degree apprenticeships and into work confident in their ability to make a mark on the world.

"All the teachers at Kimberley School are proud of the people they have become and look forward to hearing all about their achievements, large and small, in the future.

“We are equally proud of our Year 11 students who have just received their GCSE results.

"Their hard work and commitment has produced great results in 2024.

"Once again, we have seen good improvements in the percentage of students gaining grade 5s and grade 7s in both English and maths compared to 2023 and performance in these important core subjects is well above national averages.

“Our students have enjoyed a high degree of success across a very wide range of subjects that they have been able to study that will enable students to go on to the next stage of their education, training or employment.

"We are delighted that a high number of students are staying on and have enrolled in our sixth form.

"Others are going on to a variety of education and training opportunities across Nottingham.

"We would like to congratulate all of our students who have received exam results over the last week or so.

"You have done yourselves proud and we wish you, whatever you are doing next in your lives all the very best for your futures.

"We are very proud that you have been successful students at The Kimberley School.”
