Explorer Scouts: A day of challenge and adventure

The 30th Purley Masjid Scouts are continuing to grow. In October they opened two Explorer Scout Units (14–17-year-olds), were congratulated by HM The King, have delivered an active and challenging programme of fun and adventure, and seen a rapid growth in membership. Last weekend the Explorer Scouts spent the day at the home of Scouting – Gilwell Park in Epping Forest – taking part in a range of activities including fire lighting, archery, fencing, building shelters, and informal time in the Mosque on the camp site.

It provides them with the chance to dream big, find their place, be accepted, and make memories and friends that will last a lifetime. The Scouts, bring people together and build stronger communities. But most of all, they help young people see that anything’s possible.
