Ealing Broadway has revealed Home-Start Ealing, a local organisation that supports families with young children through challenging times, as its new charity partner for the year.

Home-Start Ealing is part of the wider Home-Start UK network, offering practical and emotional support to families with young children across the borough. With the help of trained volunteers, the charity provides in-home support to families facing a range of challenges, such as postnatal depression, bereavement, financial pressures, physical health issues, and social isolation.

Each volunteer typically dedicates around two hours a week, offering confidential support that helps parents build confidence, emotional resilience, and create nurturing environments for their children.

Ealing Broadway is set to support Home-Start Ealing through a range of fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and community-focused activities throughout the year.

The first event is set to take place on Wednesday 16th April, with a whole host of Easter-themed activities for children of all ages in Ealing Broadway’s Town Square.

For a small £1 or £2 donation, families can get stuck into an interactive Easter Egg Hunt around the centre, a creative crafting session decorate Easter baskets, and a ‘Name the Easter Character’ competition. All proceeds will directly support Home-Start Ealing’s vital work with local families.

The new partnership follows a successful year of community-driven initiatives at the centre, including launching the Merry Mailbox in partnership with Age UK, which saw over 100 locals write Christmas cards for those lonely or isolated in the local area, the popular pre-loved shop shops and uniform store where thousands of clothing items have been swapped, as well as last month’s free plant giveaway with Greenka.

Andrew Rollings, Centre Director at Ealing Broadway, said: “The work that Home-Start Ealing does to help local families is vital and we want to go some way to help them continue to reach those that need it most.

“We’re always so thankful for the generosity of our visitors with our community initiatives. We’re looking forward to kicking off our support with our Easter event next week which I’m sure will prove popular with families!”

Karen Clark, Scheme Manager at Home-Start Ealing, added: “Support from organisations like Ealing Broadway, and its shoppers, is fundamental in helping us to reach more families across the borough and continue to provide them with the practical and emotional support when they need it most. We’re looking forward to working together to raise the all-important funds we need.”
