Regularly popping out for coffee, pub lunches, mini-bus trips, and other outings is an essential part of our weekly activity calendar alongside our general in-house activities and events program.
Today we combined two celebrations; International Men's Day and resident Edward's 91st birthday. Tony’s Pie & Mash Shop is a family run business, established 25 years ago and it was the perfect location for Edward and several of his Paternoster pals to dine. With a splash of Tony's homemade chilli vinegar our gentleman thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful and were super surprised to be joined at the table by Mr Pie and Mash himself ‘Tony'!
For the gentlemen unable to partake in the trip, our activities team spent time doing 1:1 sensory activity in their rooms.
Corina Popescu, General Manager at Paternoster House, said: “International Men’s Day is a really positive way for us to thank all of the unsung heroes that help to make our lives better. It is a great way for us to recognise all the wonderful men in our lives and let them know how much we value them.”
Paternoster House provides nursing, residential and dementia care for respite residents and longer-term care. Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
