The little boy’s love for cars made the theme an obvious choice for his special day. “A car-themed party was perfect for him,” said Anushae.
Children's parties often cost £300 or more, but Anushae was determined to give her toddler a special day without breaking the bank.
"I wanted a memorable party for him but also had to stick to a budget," she explains. After browsing several e-commerce platforms and finding prices too high, she decided to check out Temu, a direct-from-factory marketplace she had heard about but never tried.
"I didn't realise how many car-themed decorations they had at such affordable prices," says Anushae. From car-shaped balloons and racecar tablecloths to a car-themed cake topper, she found everything she needed.
"The quality was amazing for the price. I couldn't believe how much I could get without overspending," she adds. The total cost for decorations and supplies was much less than expected.
One of her favourite picks was a car-shaped cake topper, which gave Aliyan's birthday cake a professional touch. "It looked like something you'd find in a high-end shop, but it was so affordable on Temu," she says. She also picked up mini toy cars as party favours, costing just £3.
Anushae shared her car-themed party online and many resonated with her budget-friendly ideas.
"As a single mom, I've found so many practical parenting products on Temu. The baby monitor gives me peace of mind while I'm working since I can keep an eye on my little one at all times," one commented.
Another parent added: "I totally agree! I got a set of stacking toys and played with my child, and he was thrilled. Those stacking toys from Temu are amazing for parent-child bonding."
Research by the Centre for Economics and Business Research ( CEBR) hows that UK households can save up to £3,000 a year by shopping on direct-from-factory platforms like Temu.
Since its U.S. launch in 2022, Temu has expanded to over 90 global markets, providing a vast selection of high-quality, affordable products. The company is actively recruiting local sellers and enhancing its local fulfillment operations, including in the U.K., to reduce delivery times to as little as one day.
Temu expects 50% of UK sales to come from local sellers and warehouses by the end of 2025, supporting local businesses while ensuring consumers have access to competitively priced, high-quality products.
Thanks to Temu, Anushae was able to create a fun and memorable birthday for Aliyan without going over budget. "It felt like a professional event, but it was so affordable. Aliyan had the best time," she says. "I'm already looking forward to next year's party!"
