Local martial artist achieves 6th Dan: A milestone in leadership, skill and dedication

We are incredibly proud to announce that Miss Bex Timms, our second highest grade at Proaction Martial Arts & Fitness, has been officially promoted to 6th Dan by Grand Master Denis IX!

This is more than just a well-earned new belt — it’s a major milestone for both Proaction and Miss Timms' personal martial arts journey.

This level of promotion signifies decades of dedication, discipline, and personal growth. The test was incredibly demanding, covering a full spectrum of martial arts expertise: from technical skill, patterns, and sparring, to theory, self-defence, destruction, and mental resilience.

But what sets Miss Timms apart isn’t just her skill — it’s her unwavering leadership.

She is a cornerstone of our team:

  • Leading our Northampton club three evenings a week
  • Running our Wellingborough location
  • Delivering expert workshops
  • And helping to develop and guide our entire student body

Her promotion directly strengthens the quality, credibility, and depth of instruction we offer across all Proaction locations. It also sets an example of excellence for every student training with us — particularly young women who can now see firsthand what’s possible through hard work, respect, and commitment.

For Miss Timms, this is a defining moment in her career. It marks her continued progression towards Master status and reflects her reputation as a respected martial artist, instructor, and mentor within the wider martial arts community.

We are honoured to have her as a leader at Proaction and excited to see everything that comes next.

Next stop… Master.
