When Cinnamon the Capybara escaped her enclosure at Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World last September, news spread quickly, and Cinnamon became a worldwide celebrity. Luckily, Cinnamon was found and returned to the zoo after seven days, and a children’s book was produced to mark her adventure.
Hercule Van Wolfwinkle, renowned for his whimsical and vibrant illustrations, adds a playful touch to the book that complements Morgan’s narrative and will leave readers enchanted. Hercule’s artwork has gained a loyal following on social media, with over 350,000 Facebook followers, thanks to his famous “Pet Portraits by Hercule”. His unique art style highlights the personalities of pets with flair and humor.
Will Dorrell from Hoo Zoo said: “Hercule was the natural choice to ask to illustrate the book about Cinnamon, and we are thrilled he accepted. We are very excited that Hercule will be coming to Hoo Zoo and will be able to meet Cinnamon in the flesh!”.
There will be a reading of “Cinnamon’s Big Adventure,” and both Hercule and Morgan will sign copies. Books will be available to purchase (every full-price paying child will get a book for free), and all proceeds will go to the zoo, which will provide enrichment and new enclosures for the animals.
