From its award-winning No.26 Bar & Restaurant, with its courtyard outdoor dining space, waterside dining domes and quayside seating for informal eating and drinking; to its elegant events spaces The Hideaway and The Boat House, the venue is continually evolving to meet growing customer demands. However, until now, overnight accommodation has not been on the cards.
All that has now changed with the arrival of Dragonfly – a spacious and beautifully designed wide beam boat offering opulent overnight accommodation for up to four guests on the water. Available for booking both for couples getting married at the marina and for those looking to add an overnight stay to their dining experience, Dragonfly is ready to receive her first guests. Director, Helen Clayton, says:
“We regularly get asked about overnight accommodation and, while our plans for a proposed hotel are still under review, we decided to look to the water as a solution. We already host a range of moorings for narrowboats at the marina, so adding ‘hotel rooms’ on the water seemed the natural step.
“However, while narrowboats are charming, they offer restricted space and that didn’t quite fit the vision we had of effectively a floating 5-star hotel suite special enough for couples to spend their wedding night in. Dragonfly is the perfect solution – she offers some 600 square feet of accommodation; including an open-plan living area with fully-equipped kitchen; a luxurious bathroom and a spacious double bedroom with breathtaking views across the marina. We can’t wait to welcome our first guests next month!”
Couples who already have wedding dates booked at the marina have now been contacted and offered the option to book Dragonfly for their big day, so bookings have now been opened to the general public.
