Over 270 bikes from around the county came together to raise vital funds for St Michael’s Hospice in Hastings.

The ride was a memorial ride for Penny Gedge who would have celebrated her 65th Birthday today. Wife of a local businessman Trevor Gedge who owns J S Gedge, had the support of St Michael’s Hospice and her last wish was a ride out in her honour.

The ride from the Hospice to her place of birth in Bodiam, saw bikers ride through Silverhill and on to the A21 where they turned off towards Sedlescombe and onwards to Bodiam and her old house.

Most of the route was lined by well wishers waving and cheering the bikes on.

Its hoped this can be an annual event to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice for the care it gives residents in their last moments.
