THE OBSERVATORY SCIENCE CENTRE is now open every day up until the end of April.

You can save on the cost of your admission by pre-booking online at https://www.the-observatory.org/booking. During the Easter Holiday fortnight there will be telescope tours and the Newton in Motion science show included in admission, these are repeated throughout the day. No need to book. There will be two planetarium days over Easter, Friday 11 and Monday 14 April. These sessions can be booked at reception on arrival for a small extra cost or at  https://www.the-observatory.org/easter-holiday-workshops. There are three different workshops to choose from for kids aged 7 to 11 years: Astronaut Academy on Tuesday 8 April, Rocket Science on Wednesday 9, Fun with Chemistry on Tuesday 15 and Wed 16 April.

SUNDAY SERVICES THIS WEEK are All Saints, Herstmonceux: 11am Family Service, followed by bring and share lunch. St Mary Magdalene, Wartling: 8am Holy Communion. Quakers Ecumenical Service is on the first Sunday of each month in the Friends meeting house at 7pm. For more information ring Jim or Kitty Bond on 01323 833647. Community Breakfast is on Sunday 6 April from 10am to 12 midday in Herstmonceux Village Hall. Please go along any time between 10am and 12 noon for a free buffet, breakfast, quiz and crafts. All ages assured of a warm welcome.

REV DEBORAH SCOTT-BROMLEY will be licensed on 11 April at 7.30pm in Herstmonceux Church. This is the start of her new ministry with the Parishes of Wartling and Herstmonceux. Please also come along to “Deborah’s Meet the Parishes” afternoon tea at the Reid Hall Boreham Street on the 13 April at 3pm. COWBEECH BONFIRE SOCIETY CHARITABLE Trust will be looking back at the successes of 2024 with pride and enjoy the making its annual donations to its chosen charities, organisations and needy causes all local to the area. This evening event is taking place at the Merrie Harriers on Saturday, 12 April. All welcome. Thanks to the hard-working committee and the essential help of regular volunteers the Society is able to give away an impressive £9,500 which will be much appreciated by all the recipients. This money goes a long way to making sure they can continue to serve the young, old, and worthy in the area and the tireless work for the community should rightly be applauded and rewarded.

HERSTMONCEUX BOWLS CLUB has the first of two open days on Saturday 5 April from 10 am until 2 pm at the Pavilion in the Recreation Ground, Herstmonceux. You will be able to find out more about the Club, enjoy a coffee and meet this friendly team. The rinks open (weather permitting) on 26 when you can try your hand with every assistance given. RAY AND SHELDON Over 60s Club meets on Friday 11 April from 2 to 4pm in the Herstmonceux Village Hall for a talk by Community Support Officer Sue Chopin. Entry is £4, which includes raffle and refreshments. All welcome.

HERSTMONCEUX WALKING GROUP will meet on Sunday at 10am in the Hailsham Leisure Centre car park for a circular Downland walk in Jevington area of approximately 4 to 5 miles. If you would like to go along, contact walk leader, Lita on 01323 843943 or 07561 493111.
