The inspiring talk at South Downs Nurseries was packed. Ms Sargeant spoke about her work on the Lion King Anniversary Garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Festival which scooped the event’s first-ever Environmental Innovation Award, Best in Show, and a Silver-Gilt medal.
The garden, inspired by the African Savannah and the magic of The Lion King, featured vibrant hot colours and a circular performance space to honour the iconic stage show.
Juliet shared her expert tips on using drought-tolerant plants which can also stand up to winter wet, from trees and shrubs to perennials and grasses. She also gave invaluable advice on dealing with clay soils to prevent plant rot during our wetter winters by advising how to change the way we landscape and sculpt the ground and the materials we can use to do that.
