Chuf provides life-changing support to children and families undergoing vital cardiac care at the Freeman Hospital’s Children’s Heart Unit and other hospitals across the North of England that deliver cardiac care.
J T Dove’s corporate charity partnership with Chuf was established 11 years ago when they began working together on the CHUF’n’Builders project in 2014. This unique initiative united J T Dove and other construction industry players in a shared mission to raise vital funds for Chuf. The response was phenomenal, with seven companies joining forces to raise over £50,000.
At the beginning of the partnership J T Dove set a fundraising target of £30k over 2 years, which was quickly achieved thanks to the unwavering support and enthusiastic participation of all J T Dove sites across the North East. By involving its customers, the business has been able to make charity fun for all involved, with golf days, sponsored walks, bike rides and bake sales.
Charlotte Campbell, Director of Chuf said “Our relationship with J T Dove is so important to us and their ongoing commitment continues to take us from strength to strength. Their loyal support has had a transformative impact on the Heart Hero community and we are so grateful for everything they have helped us to achieve.”
J T Dove and Chuf’s successful partnership working was recognised at last year’s North East Charity awards where they won the coveted Corporate Charity Partnership category. Juliette Coplin, Marketing Co-ordinator at J T Dove, said: “The award means so much to us because we have quite a few staff members in the business that have benefitted from Chuf’s support at the Freeman so we know that every penny we raise makes a real difference.”
This year, money donated to Chuf will continue to aid the charity’s Seven Appeal, which is helping to raise urgent funds for vital new machinery, to support the Congenital Echocardiography team
at Newcastle Hospitals Trust.
Sadly, the NHS cannot fund everything needed to make a patients journey the very best it can be, which is why Chuf provide top-up support that makes a vital difference to families who they need it most.
