The choir were delighted to be performing a variety of songs from their repertoire, chosen by Musical Director Chris Kemp, and the resulting mix was nothing short of brilliant!
Inspiring songs included Labi Siffre's 'Something Inside So Strong', and Elton John's 'Border Song', while nostalgic numbers such as 'Moonlight Shadow' and 'Let Your Love Flow' soon had the audience singing along! The powerful and moving 'Fall On Me' and 'Space' visibly moved both audience and choir members.
Comments from audience and choir members included:
'Just wow! Beautiful!'
Space - 'Can't tell you how much I love performing this song'.
'There was a real community feeling tonight'.
'I love to sing with singers from different ATN choirs. Makes it really special'.
Turn the Lights Back On 'and the light really did come on'! (Spooky).
Ticket sales, plus a fabulous ATN raffle, raised nearly £1,500. As Chris says, 'a tremendous amount just from doing what we love'.
Huge thanks go to choir members for their amazing performance, and to the lovely, supportive audience.
The choir say: "If you missed our performance, or would like to see us again, our next appearance will be at the Empress on the Stray, Harrogate, at their Easter Garden Party, on Saturday April 19. From 1.30pm, we will be singing some of our favourite songs! An Easter Egg Hunt, face painting, and a barbecue will add to the fun and games!"
